About us:

                  The department of child health is the apex department catering the needs of 7 revenue districts of the northern part of Kerala. It is now one of the major departments in Calicut Medical College and one of the main divisions in the Institute of Maternal and Child Health. Even though from 1957 till 1961 it was under the General Medicine department, from 1961 onwards it has been made an independent department. It was shifted to IMCH in 1975.  Post graduate course started in the year 1972. Initially we started with DCH course. MD Pediatrics started in 1977. DNB course started in the department on January 1999.
