Department conducts various academic activities for PG teaching which are usually held at 12 to 1 PM and 2to 3 pm everyday; on Friday 8-9am there is a guest lecture by faculty from other departments.

Journal Club – Here recent journals are presented by a junior resident which is discussed by the faculty. This is usually held on Mondays.

Resident topic – Here a topic of clinical relevance is prepared and presented by a junior resident which is discussed by the faculty, usually on Tuesdays.

Rare presentation of common disease/problem case discussion – held in alternating weeks, this is the session for group discussion regarding a problem case or discussing rare presentations of common diseases. 2-3 cases are discussed per session. This gives insight into the various presentations of a single disease. This session is usually held on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Friday talk – this is a unique session where a speaker from outside the department in or outside the alma mater presents topics of common interests. It is also a way of exposure to our retired eminent teachers to interact with the young generation and enlighten them. It is held as a morning session from 8:15 to 9:00 AM.

Clinical Club – This club is a very interesting session where at least one clinical case with relevant discussion is presented from each unit and is discussed by the faculty. This provides a very good platform for junior residents to present interesting cases and discuss among faculty. This is usually conducted on Saturdays.

Radiology Club – This is another unique session conducted in interaction with the radiodiagnosis department. Interesting X-Ray, CT, MRI images are presented by junior residents from medicine and radiology departments and opinion from senior faculty of both departments are also sought for. This gives junior residents more exposure to reading images while it gives good clinical correlation for the images. This is usually held once in 2 weeks.

CPC – Another interesting interactive session with pathology department where a case is provided for a junior resident with relevant history, physical findings and investigations. Evaluating this material he/she has to reach a most probable diagnosis. A pathologist will have the final diagnosis depending upon a pathologic specimen and the clinical and pathological correlation is discussed.
